Stagecoach in South Wales has thanked customers across the country for raising over £40,000 for NHS charities as a result of its exact fares scheme.
The exact fares policy was enacted in May 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and customers were adviced that excess payments would be donated to the NHS Charities Together Appeal.
It includes a recent donation to the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Cardiff and Vale Health Charity and the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board.
Nigel Winter, Managing Director for Stagecoach in South Wales, says: “We would like to thank our customers for their help in raising such a fantastic amount for this worthy charity. We’re very proud of the incredible job that all key workers, including our own employees, are continuing to do and are
pleased that this money will be going to support those who have supported many others during these difficult times”.
Stagecoach customers are still being asked to use contactless, pre-payment methods or exact change for fares. Excess payments from the policy continue to be donated to the NHS appeal.
