Former Pelican Bus and Coach Sales Manager Bob Elliott has returned to the Castleford business in a part-time role to expand the reach of the Yutong brand among coach operators in Scotland.
Bob took a three-month sabbatical from the business following his retirement at the end of March after 39 years’ service, a move that saw Pelican’s coach sales team reorganised. As planned, he returned in early July with a remit of covering Scotland. Bob reports that visits to coach operators there have already generated a good reception.
“I am looking forward to meeting customers new and old in Scotland,” he says. His territory covers all of Scotland including its islands, and interest has already been seen there among potential buyers of the TC9 and GT12 diesel coaches and the battery-electric TCe12.
Bob was credited as playing a major part in establishing the Yutong brand in the UK coach market. Pelican has already seen success with both coaches and battery-electric buses in Scotland, but prior to his retirement Bob observed that there exists significant further untapped demand there for the TC9, GT12 and TCe12. He hopes to capitalise on that in his part-time capacity.
Pelican has stock examples of both the TC9 and GT12 available at Castleford, both in PSVAR compliant format. Further examples will arrive from the factory in China soon.
