So the time has come to say goodbye to a cherished member of your fleet. When you are dealing with such a high-value item, you will naturally want to try several avenues. However, the online routeone Trader listings is the number one way to cost-effectively and easily target your potential buyers.

From as little as £60+VAT, you can advertise your vehicle on route-one.net and in routeone magazine, meaning your ad will be seen by thousands in the industry. For operators who are more likely to be regular users, the “frequent seller” package represents even better value for money. For £360+VAT, you have unlimited access to the platform with up to 10 vehicles appearing online at any one time and five appearing in print per month. With a 40% discount (quote “TRADER40”) applicable until the end of March on multi-seller and frequent-seller packages offering even greater value, you could save thousands versus methods which charge a percentage of the sale value.

Jamie Bishop from Don’s Coaches has just taken out the annual frequent-seller package: “It’s a great platform. I find it very straightforward and easy to use – from putting the advert on and uploading the pictures, to even generating the invoice.

“With the 40% discount, it was a no-brainer. Especially at the start of the year as well, who knows what’s going to go on through the rest of the year in terms of selling vehicles? You’ve got unlimited access to the platform with the package that we chose.

“We hit every online platform and social networking that we can to try and shift the vehicle. With routeone, it’s very user-specific. Obviously, if you put it on your Facebook, you’re going to get more timewasters.”

With Trader, you have full control over your ad. The simple, self-upload system lets you post not only five images but also a video and unlimited description. A summary is shown in results lists and a click will take you to the page dedicated to that listing.

Made a mistake? No problem – simply go back in to edit it. The self-serve portal also makes it easy for you to choose which vehicles you want to appear online or in the magazine according to what your package allows. In the unlikely event you’re having issues, the team is a phone call away and willing to assist.

Candice Mason of Masons Minibus and Coach Hire adds of her experience using Trader: “We recently had some coaches to sell. We contacted the routeone Trader team regarding our requirements and they talked us through the online uploading system to market our vehicles. The process to set up and sell was incredibly easy and straightforward. We had complete control of the wording and pictures, allowing us to showcase the vehicle really well. The process took less than 10 minutes to get completed, from registering to uploading the details and adding our description. It was super user-friendly, even for us who are a little unsavvy with tech! The website display for those looking to purchase gives you everything you need, including the specifications of the vehicle, the location and the contact details for the seller. I would highly recommend this system as a way to sell your vehicles.”

The Trader directory allows potential buyers to filter and search via several fields, meaning they can find exactly what they’re looking for quickly. For example, typing in “Mercedes” will bring up any entries with that description anywhere in the title. You can search based on your location and your results are displayed not only in list format but on a map. You can also filter via bus, coach or mini/midi. Such ease of use means better targeted exposure for your coach or bus. Prospective buyers can get in touch via the online form with their messages going straight to your inbox.

For Julie Jack from Hunters Executive Coaches, Trader is one of the few outlets she uses when selling vehicles. “routeone always seems to work very well for us,” she says. “We’ve had no problems uploading but we know that, if we ever did, we could phone up and the team help us.”
