‘A new idea for Southend coach parking’

Well, Southend has come up with another idea for coach parking in the town. This one is a little better than the last one, but it costs.

‘There could be a problem with holiday coaches, unless Arriva will let them park in their depot overnight’

It means dropping the passengers on the seafront, or at the two coach drop bays beside the Kursaal, and then driving back to Arriva's depot in Short Street, off Queensway, at the top of the High Street.

However, as you cannot turn right into Short Street you must go further on, past the Gateway junction to the next roundabout, and come back on the other side of the dual carriageway.

It will be £22 from 0900hrs-1700hrs, and drivers will get a voucher for a free lunch at The Pebbles on the seafront, about a mile walk down through our high street.

Arriva also offers a £10 coach wash facility, and drivers have to book in advance. There could be a problem with holiday coaches, unless Arriva will let them park in their depot overnight, as the next coach bays are on Ness Road at Shoeburyness, about three miles along the seafront.
