EV buses fitted with the Magtec’s state-of-the-art clean technology are now runnning world wide.

Magtec manufacture motors, gearboxes, power controllers and battery systems which are supplied to OEMs or its own repower program.

Magtec has developed a repower solution that takes an existing conventionally-powered vehicle and removes the IC engine (and hybrid), drive train and all its ancillary components such as the fuel tank, radiator and intercooler and exhausts system.

This equipment is then replaced with an electric motor with fixed ratio gearbox that drives directly into the existing rear axle differential. A battery system and ancillaries are then integrated into the vehicle.

An electric drivetrain means no diesel, ad-blue or engine maintenance costs. In fact, overall maintenance costs are typically reduced by as much as two thirds.

Brake wear is also reduced and fewer oil changes are required. Repowering a vehicle will see any capital outlay recouped through fuel savings within five years (depending on duty cycle).
