CPT hosts North Weald ride-and-drive event

The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) London & South East Region’s sixth annual Ride-and-Drive event took place on Friday (27 July).

Held at North Weald airfield, the event attracted 230 attendees including suppliers.

Around 20 coaches, buses and minibuses were available to test drive around the airfield which were supplied by:

  • ADL
  • Arriva Bus and Coach
  • Close Brothers
  • Dawsonrentals
  • EVM
  • EvoBus
  • Irizar
  • MAN
  • Moseley
  • Optare
  • Scania
  • Volvo
  • Wrightbus
  • Yutong.

The evening, which included a barbeque buffet, raised £1,000 in donations for the Essex and Herts air ambulance, as well as having two prizes up for grabs.

A Speed Car Experience was won by Steve Nelson of NIBS, and two tickets and accommodation for the CPT London and South East Dinner at the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne for next April was David Richmond of Richmond Coaches.
