Around 100 stakeholders from the coach tourism sector gathered for the Coach Tourism Association (CTA) Spring Networking event in Norwich on 17-19 May.
Coach tour operators, wholesalers, and industry suppliers from the UK and elsewhere in Europe took part in an event designed to boost business opportunities and offer new insights.
Based at Holiday Inn Norwich North, the three days included the usual Supplier Showcase, familiarisation trips and a presentation.
“We estimate the event will generate significant new business, both for coach tour operators and wholesalers, as well as the wide range of suppliers supporting the coach tourism industry,” says CTA Chair Robert Shaw, who was present in Norwich. “As with all CTA events, Spring Networking matched operators with the industry suppliers they needed to talk to. With a particular focus on coach tourism in Norfolk, we know that operators who don’t already come here are planning new trips and tours as a result.”
The Supplier Showcase provided opportunity for owners of hotels, attractions, destinations, and service providers to network with coach operators and wholesalers.
A trip with a Norfolk Broads cruise courtesy of Broads Tours and a visit to the Holkham estate offered tour operators the chance to taste what the county has to offer.
A presentation on organising coach tours to Norfolk was also included, with Robert Easton of Norwich-based Eastons Holidays, and Ann Steward of Visit East of England providing their expert local knowledge.
Eastons Holidays provided transport for the weekend.
Mr Shaw adds: “Strong attendance and vibrant conversations between tour operators and tourism industry suppliers showed the positivity currently reflected in the market, demonstrated in our recent member survey.
“We’re looking forward to a robust year ahead with a good forecast already for 2026. Industry stakeholders should join us at our next event and capitalise on the new opportunities available.”
CTA’s next event, Winter Networking, will take place on 21-24 November in Perthshire. More details will be live soon.
