Volvo 9700 for Daishs Holidays

Daish’s Holidays has taken delivery of its first new Volvo coaches for almost eight years in the form of a pair of B11R-based 9700s.

Both are PSVAR compliant and they have been allocated to two of the operator’s longest-serving drivers, who Transport Manager Richard Moon (pictured below, second from right) says “are both avid Volvo fans.” Each coach is powered by the D11K engine developing 430bhp driving through the I-Shift automated manual gearbox.

Mr Moon adds that the 9700s have already generated positive feedback from their drivers. They have been put to work transporting customers between local pick-up points and hotels.

“Key to our operation is ensuring maximum uptime, and having access to the Volvo Bus dealer network gives us the peace of mind that we are never far from manufacturer-based support, no matter where our vehicles may be,” he continues.

Capacity is 53 in Volvo Coach Line seats that include USB charging points and adjustable footrests and headrests. Also part of the specification is a centre sunken toilet along with a servery area.

Volvo Dynamic Steering is fitted and the vehicles are expected to cover up to 100,000km per annum. They will remain with Daish’s for at least five years and have been supplied through Volvo Financial Services.
