Buses for Notts County Council are first provincial 10.8m Enviro200EVs

Entering service with Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) on Monday 4 June were two BYD-based Enviro200EVs, supplied by Alexander Dennis (01909 551166).

They are the first provincial-spec 10.8m examples of the zero-emission Enviro200EV and they have 36 seats with an overall capacity of 70 passengers.

Says BYD’s UK Country Manager Frank Thorpe: “These two buses demonstrate the attractive aspects of our joint design for use on provincial services.

“We anticipate many more orders for the now well-proven combination of ADL’s stylish bodywork and BYD’s advanced pure electric drivetrain.”

A total of £910,000 has been provided by NCC and the government’s OLEV scheme. The buses will be used on two routes that run 12 hours per day, six days per week.
