Sanders Coaches of Holt has taken delivery of four Volvo B8RLE single-deckers with 10.8m MCV Evora bodywork. The mid-size variant is a recent addition to Volvo and MCV’s line-up for the UK and it complements the existing 12.1m combination.
Those for Sanders carry 38 seated passengers and up to 46 standees. They are fitted with USB charging points and three-point belts and they will be employed on the operator’s Coasthopper network in north Norfolk.
Says Director Charles Sanders: “We are really impressed with the B8RLE chassis and the Volvo brand. Not only does the vehicle offer good residual value, but the local dealer support is excellent.
“The interior was especially important to us, as we really wanted to have a bright offering so that passengers are greeted with a warm welcome. MCV certainly provides this.
“Just 20 days into operation, passengers as well as drivers, have been very complementary about the smoothness of the journey. That is all down to the buses’ shorter length, which makes manoeuvring them much easier.”
Two more Volvo buses are set to join Sanders Coaches in early September. Currently, just under half of the operator’s 90-strong fleet is from the Swedish manufacturer.
