Shiel Buses takes another Tourismo for Citylink work

Fort William operator Shiel Buses has taken delivery of a further Mercedes-Benz Tourismo. It is PSVAR compliant and carries Citylink livery to suit its use on high mileage scheduled work.

The new coach was ordered after positive feedback generated by two earlier Tourismos that were purchased in 2018. Like the more recent arrival, they were sourced to operate Shiel Buses’ Citylink service that runs between Skye, Fort William and Glasgow.

Says Director David MacGillivray: “This high mileage, arduous route has highlighted fantastic returns on fuel economy, vehicle handling and reliability. The build quality coupled with the new safety features on the Tourismo, such as the front collision guard, enhanced the coach perfectly.

“The support we receive from the aftersales team together with the Tourismos’ performance since 2018 made the decision to purchase another in 2020 an easy one.”

Shiel Buses is supported by mobile technician Ross Meechin. He operates in the highland regions of Scotland for supplier EvoBus (UK).
