One thing is for sure about the coach and bus industry: It runs on relationships. Between you as an operator and your customers, your suppliers or other groups such as DVSA or local authorities: The stronger those partnerships are, the more they will deliver.
That’s why it’s important to come together and collectively both leverage those existing relationships and form new ones.
If you’re reading this at Euro Bus Expo, casting an eye over the market to see what Is out there that can help your business is undoubtedly one of the reasons why you’re attending.
And you won’t be disappointed, with around 300 exhibitors at this year’s show. Meanwhile, with 9,000 visitors expected through the doors of the NEC Birmingham, it’s likely that you’ll bump into fellow operators and be able to tap into their knowledge.
You may also choose to attend one of the Master Class Theatre seminars. They cover a variety of topics, from Earned Recognition to what is perhaps the most important topic of all: How to keep your customers happy and keep them coming back.
It’s fair to say that you already do a pretty good job of that. At the same time, coach operators and bus operators alike have their plates full at the moment with a multitude of challenges, from air quality-related uncertainty to congestion woes, driver shortages and the dreaded B-word.
It is a tribute to the industry and the people within it that it is able to function at all at times. But it does so with a smile and a wink, not to mention a desire to do better every day.
Be honest. Would you really want to do anything else?
Enjoy the show.
