arundel walking tourA walking tours business in Arundel is newly targeting coach groups with a “meet and greet” service.

Arundel Town Tours, which has been in operation in the West Sussex town for 10 years, has worked with nine coach operators since it first trialled the venture last year.

The business says it can build itineraries based on the needs and size of the group. Services include cathedral tours and arranging bookings for afternoon teas.

Owner Martin Alderton adds that last-minute requests can be met. He also promotes free parking a driver package.

“After 10 years of Town Tours, building and developing ways to make visitors to Arundel enjoy the best experience in our historic town, in 2023 we began to look at creating a meet-and-greet service,” he says. “We spoke with others who offer this service to discover the best way going forward.

“We trialled it and nine coach companies gave us a go. The responses and reviews were brilliant, from the free parking to the free service, the flexible time and all-year-around offer, especially when the castle is closed. From social media platforms and groups, to emailing, messaging and writing to many owners, talking to many drivers that arrive every day, we are building a great collaborations.

“Meeting by the cathedral gives the guests a different aspect of Arundel, one that not many get to due to the steep high street. We pass on our knowledge and facts about the town, the Castle, the Duke and many interesting, unique aspects of the delightful, much visited town.”

Tour organisers leave guests at the Castle exit, where they can be picked up.
