Bookings have opened for the coming Young Bus Managers Network (YBMN) spring conference, which will be held at the Strathallan Hotel in Birmingham on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May.
The existing format will be followed for the latest gathering. Speakers already confirmed include Go-Ahead Group Managing Director, Regional Bus Martin Dean, who will deliver the after-dinner address, and National Express West Midlands MD David Bradford.
Also to address delegates will be First Bus Head of Policy John Birtwistle. He will discuss trials of the UK’s first autonomous electric bus in passenger service that involve the group, which are currently underway at Milton Park in Oxfordshire.
Industry analyst and consultant Chris Cheek of Passenger Transport Intelligence Services will deliver his usual update on post-pandemic trends and he will also lead a discussion on ideas to bring customers back to bus. The conference will additionally include a visit to a local operating location.
Further speakers are to be confirmed, while the popular ‘Dragons’ Den’ workshop will again be held.
Speaking about the programme, YBMN Patron Roger French says: “We are pleased to be returning to the West Midlands for our next conference. It will be timely to visit Birmingham again, which is moving forward with a partnership approach with the Combined Authority, in contrast to Greater Manchester and Merseyside.”
