Eberspächer has completed the purchase of French company Kalori SAS, which develops and produces air-conditioning and heating systems for commercial vehicles, including minibuses.

Kalori’s customer base includes many OEMs. The deal will complement Eberspächer UK’s existing business and allow it to expand to new industry sectors.

Kalori’s extensive product range includes the TrimLine range of ducting outlets, fan blowers and air-conditioning components as well as evaporators and condenser items. Unique pressurisation technology complements in-cabin heating and cooling, providing clean air even in dusty conditions.

Eberspächer UK MD Vince Lee says: “Thanks to Kalori’s comprehensive range, we will be able to offer new solutions for environmental and climate control systems. The objective behind this acquisition is to expand our markets and build on our existing business with established customers.

“The net result will be a greater flow of Eberspächer approved components into new and existing markets, allowing us to be a one-stop shop for cooling and heating solutions whatever the application.”

Adds Dr Jorg Schernikau, Chief Operating Officer of Eberspächer Climate Control Systems: “Thanks to Kalori’s technical expertise, we will be able to comprehensively extend our range of climate control systems in a targeted way.”

Over 100 people work in sales, R&D, production and administration at Kalori’s Lyon headquarters and a further 50 work at is production plant in Zhongshan, China.
