HJS Emission Technology’s Real Blue SCRT system has been approved by the Energy Saving Trust’s (EST) Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS).

The CVRAS is a certification scheme for manufacturers of retrofit emissions reduction technology that enables bus operators to upgrade emission standards for compliance with the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London and Clean Air Zone’s (CAZ) throughout the UK.

The five biggest cities in the UK are set to implement CAZs; Birmingham, Derby, Leeds, Nottingham and Southampton and 28 other areas must also submit plans to tackle air quality issues.

The UK government is supporting transport emission reduction initiatives throughout England by releasing a £30m Clean Bus Technology Fund which can be used to upgrade buses to real-world Euro 6 emission standards.

Only CVRAS approved technologies can be used to secure funding.
The HJS Real Blue SCRT system reduces Nitrogen Oxide emissions generated by diesel engines.

Supplied in combination with a diesel particulate filter, the system is widely recognised as one of the quickest and most cost effective ways to achieve TfL/CVRAS Euro 6 emission standards from Euro 3, 4 and 5 buses, says the firm

The Real Blue SCRT system is available for some of the most common UK buses including the ADL Enviro200, Enviro400, Enviro400H as well as the Volvo B9TL and the B5LH.

Further system development for many of the other common bus applications is underway.
