Coach and bus insurance broker McCarron Coates has been shortlisted for two awards in the 2021 National Insurance Awards.

The firm is a finalist for Commercial Lines Broker of the Year and Commercial Lines Specialist Broker of the Year in recognition of its work in fleet transport insurance, and of coach insurance.

In particular, the nominations recognise McCarron Coates’ commitment to its coach operator clients through its Wish you could Hear campaign, highlighting the sector’s difficulties during COVID-19. The campaign was referenced in Parliament and engaged with McCarron Coates’ own local MP for Morley and Outwood, Andrea Jenkyns.

“The past 12 months have been challenging, with many of our clients being in a sector that could not operate at all and which had no support,” says Director Ian McCarron. “We felt it our duty to repay their loyalty to us, by creating a campaign that would highlight their plight.

Adds Director Paul Coates: “We are delighted to have our deep level of support for our clients recognised by the National Insurance Awards, which adds to the gratitude we have received from the coach sector for what we did to assist it in its hour of need.

“It would be fantastic to scoop one or both of the awards and bring it back to a team that worked so hard to not just keep our brokerage running but to also reach out and support coach operators that really needed help and someone on their side.”

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at The Waldorf Hilton, London, on 14 July.
