McGill’s is expanding its Fly coach network with a service between Aberdeen city centre and Edinburgh Airport.
Adding to its Dundee to Edinburgh Airport route, Fly Aberdeen will operate eight times per day in each direction when it launches on 28 April.
The service will run directly to the terminal doors of Scotland’s busiest airport in 2 hours 40 minutes.
McGill’s says the schedule has been designed to align with peak flight times.
Advance fares will be £34 single and £43 return for adults. Young Scot and Saltire card-holders will travel for just a £1 booking fee.
Stephen Riggans, Area Director for McGill’s Scotland North, says: “Following the incredible success of our direct Dundee to Edinburgh Airport service, we’re excited to bring that same reliability and value to Aberdeen.
“We know how essential dependable airport connections are — and Fly Aberdeen is designed with that in mind, offering a stress-free journey that fits around your flight, not the other way around.”
McGill’s Bus Group, the parent company of one of Scotland’s largest bus operators, has been expanding its reach, including in the long-distance transport market.
Owned by James and Sandy Easdale, it bought Xplore Dundee in 2020 and the First Scotland East operation in 2022.
As well as extending its coach network, McGill’s entered the holiday market via launch of Loch Lomond Travel in 2024.
Its potential growth plans include spreading further across the UK and overseas, the business announced last month.
Tony Williamson, Chief Executive of McGill’s Group, adds: “The launch of Fly Aberdeen marks a significant milestone in McGill’s Group’s strategic journey to strengthen transport connectivity across Scotland and beyond.
“As we continue to invest in award-winning local services and grow our national footprint through valued partnerships like FlixBus, our focus remains clear: to deliver innovative, integrated travel solutions that meet the evolving needs of passengers.
“Fly Aberdeen is the next step in that journey—enhancing airport accessibility and bringing communities closer to the world.”
