Megabus will sell tickets for National Express coach services across England and Wales via its website in an unexpected partnership between the two businesses.
The Megabus network within England and Wales has been wound down after what immediate parent Scottish Citylink said in late 2024 was low passenger demand, although services in Scotland and cross-border routes were retained.
Under the partnership, the Megabus website will offer tickets to over 350 destinations served by National Express coaches. Megabus says that the arrangement has been put in place “to ensure that passengers can continue to access a comprehensive network of affordable, convenient services.”
Speaking about the development, Megabus Managing Director Simone Walsh says: “This is really good news for our customers, who once again have access to hundreds of services across England and Wales that can all be booked through the Megabus website.
“Partnering with National Express in this way really puts passengers at the heart of both operations and we are pleased to be able to offer this seamless booking option to our customers.”
Adds National Express Commercial Director John Boughton: “We are excited to join forces with Megabus, offering customers greater choice and easier access to our extensive UK-wide network with a single booking.
“This integration provides more convenient travel options and strengthens our commitment to providing affordable, reliable and comfortable journeys for everyone.”
