National Express (NX) has announced that its recently established National Express Holidays arm is “taking a break” after partner Malvern Group ceased trading last week.

The concept was created as a bolt-on to NX’s core scheduled coach business [routeone/News/12 June]. Malvern’s technology allowed customers to package coach travel with hotel and/or attraction tickets, with a best price guarantee.

David Costley-Wood and Tracey Pye of KPMG has been appointed joint administrators of the group. The operator says its National Express Holidays business “plans to be back up and running soon.”
