A new National Express Training Academy in partnership with South and City College Birmingham has been opened by the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street.

Tom Stables, West Midlands Mayor Andy Street, Gmilla Loveridge, Jack Dromey MP, Clive Henderson, Mike Hopkins and Sardul Dhesi at the official opening

Based at South and City’s Bordesley campus and aimed at helping tackle youth unemployment in the region, the academy’s facilities include new classrooms, a brand-new MOT pit lane and brake roller tester. A National Express West Midlands bus has been donated for use in training

“The Academy’s opening now means that we will be able to work together to train local people to become employees and apprentices to National Express and to train and upskill the existing and future workforce,” says Mike Hopkins, the college’s Principal.
