Transdev subsidiary The Burnley Bus Company debuted its Pendle Wizz brand on Monday 1 June. It uses Wright Gemini-bodied Volvo B7TL double-deckers on an express service between Skipton, Barnoldswick, Colne and Burnley.
It replaces the Witchway service between the four towns. It offers a connection in Burnley to and from Witchway buses between there and Manchester. The split will enhance reliability for customers along with Pendle Wizz route, says CEO Alex Hornby.
“As more people return to work and traffic levels increase, it’s vitally important that we take every opportunity to make sure our buses continue to be as reliable as they can be,” says Mr Hornby.
“Our customers tell us that an on-time service is the most important requirement. With the Pendle Wizz product, we are delivering on that requirement. We are also keeping many of the things that our customers love, including the fast, non-stop route along the M65.”
To take account the current movement restrictions, the new brand received a virtual launch on the eve of the buses’ entry into service. It used the hashtag #lockdownlaunch.
