National Coach Week 2025 to be preceded by RHA growth report

RHA will publish a report entitled Coaches – A Clear Route to Growth ahead of the start of National Coach Week 2025, which will run from 12 to 18 May.

That document will set out what the trade body says is “a number of recommendations to support the coach sector to drive economic growth,” including measures to assist with its transition to net-zero, attract more people into the industry, and improve infrastructure.

This year’s National Coach Week will focus on what the sector does and the contribution it makes to society. RHA has already noted that choice of a busy week in the sector’s calendar for the celebration is deliberate to maximise leverage of those aspects.

RHA adds that coach travel “plays a unique and under-recognised role in the UK economy and environment,” and that its impact in areas from home-to-school transport and rail replacement to tourism is significant.

The trade body is again encouraging all coach industry members and stakeholders to show their support for the fourth National Coach Week and help to “drive home the message that coaches are a key economic enabler.” Such backing is intended to major on a ‘whole sector’ narrative rather than highlighting individual operators or organisations.

Managing Director Richard Smith says: “National Coach Week is a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on the vital role that the coach industry plays in our society.

“Coaches provide essential transport links, connect communities, and support our tourism sector. They are also a key part of the solution to reducing congestion and improving air quality.

“We urge everyone to join us in celebrating this important industry and recognising the hard work and dedication of the people who make it all possible.”

The social media hashtag #NationalCoachWeek will be used to promote the event and the wider sector. RHA has created a social media pack for use by those supporting proceedings with posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. it can be downloaded here.
