18 of the group’s O-Licences gain Earned Recognition status; focus on achieving the same for the others

Stagecoach is pursuing Earned Recognition compliance across its business

A host of Stagecoach subsidiaries have achieved DVSA Earned Recognition (ER) status, recognising their efforts to attain the highest standards of driver and vehicle compliance.

18 Stagecoach O-Licences were added to DVSA’s list of ER participants on 25 January, but some of the subsidiaries concerned account for two licences. Operating companies serving the following areas have become part of ER:

  • Bedford, Cambridge and Peterborough
  • Devon
  • Fife
  • Kent and the South Coast
  • Lincolnshire
  • Liverpool
  • London
  • Manchester
  • Oxford and Oxfordshire
  • South Wales
  • South Yorkshire
  • The North East, Hartlepool and Teesside
  • West Scotland.

In addition, the group has confirmed to routeone that it is pursuing ER accreditation for the remainder of its UK bus subsdiaries, including its Midland Red South business, becoming the first major group to publicly confirm that it is targeting 100% ER compliance.

The recent recognition of many of Stagecoach’s subsidiaries has put it ahead of the other big groups in achieving ER status.

The ER scheme is designed to reward the most compliant undertakings by taking them out of the scope of DVSA’s routine roadside enforcement activities. To become part of it, operators must undergo an independent audit of their processes and supply KPI data to DVSA on a regular basis.

A number of coach and bus operators were founder members of ER and several more have been added since the scheme was launched.
