Transdev Blazefield has placed orders for 21 new buses that will be constructed by Alexander Dennis (ADL) and Wrightbus.

All will be built to what the operator calls “a unique specification.” 13 are to be ADL Enviro200s that will be operated by The Blackburn Bus Company on a route between its home town and Bolton.

Five Wrightbus StreetDecks will be put to work in the CityZap service between Leeds and York.

The builder of the other three buses, which will also be double-deckers, has not been revealed.

The StreetDecks will have Daimler’s six-cylinder, 7.7-litre OM 936 engine. It was recently added as option to complement the established four-cylinder, 5.1-litre OM 934.

“These vehicles will build on the feedback we receive from customers to help us to attract many more people to the bus,” says CEO Alex Hornby.
