Entries to the 2022 UK Coach Rally, to be held in Blackpool over the weekend of 9 and 10 April, are still being accepted, organiser Coach Displays has confirmed.
Coach Displays says that spaces remain available, but some booking forms are currently with operators and due to be returned. The organiser adds that it expects a full turnout of the maximum 55 entries.
Representative Ann Cousins has underlined the importance of the 2022 UK Coach Rally as the industry’s first major event of the year, and she adds a hope that its staging for the first time in over three years “will show some normality returning.”
In addition to operators’ coaches, MAN, Pelican Bus and Coach, and Volvo Bus are already confirmed to attend the trade exhibition. Other such suppliers are “in the pipeline,” Mrs Cousins continues.
Following the same format as previous years, a road run will take place on Saturday 9 April and be followed in the evening by a dinner dance that will be held at the Imperial Hotel on the Promenade. Organisers of the Rally have negotiated favourable rates for attendees who stay at the Imperial.
Judging will again take place on the Sunday ahead of trophy presentations. In 2019, the winners of the two biggest prizes were Go G VIP Coaches, which took home the Coach of the Year award for its 42-seat Van Hool TDX21 Altano, and Russell Cooper of South Yorkshire operator Coopers Tours, who was recognised as Coach Driver of the Year.
