Zeelo has launched what it calls “the world’s safest transport offering” for employees of Amazon’s Peterborough site in partnership with award-winning operator Greys of Ely.
Steps taken to secure passengers’ wellbeing include the fitment of Eco3 air filtration on coaches and the daily use of a ‘wet fogging’ system to remove 99% of air particles. Hand sanitiser will be available on board and the number of passengers carried is limited to allow social distancing.
Zeelo and Greys of Ely have also introduced PPE for drivers. Use of only the centre door is permitted and a zero-contact policy is in place, along with enforced social distancing on board coaches.
The service for Amazon aims to create awareness among other businesses in Cambridgeshire. The concept will then be rolled out in other regions in collaboration with smaller coach operators.
In addition, an app has been created to enable social distancing and contact tracing. If a passenger informs Zeelo that they are showing symptoms of coronavirus COVID-19, other users who may have travelled with them in the past can be traced.
Across the country, Zeelo now provides 100 safe routes across the country for various businesses. Its other corporate clients include Argos, Colgate, Jaguar Land Rover, Matches Fashion and Ocado.
