Zemo Partnership has announced Jonathan Murray will take over as its Acting Managing Director to replace Claire Haigh, who is stepping down.
Mr Murray, who has worked for the Partnership for 20 years, is promoted from his role as Director of Finance, Operations and Business Development.
Ms Haigh will take up a role with the St Andrews Centre for Energy Ethics but will remain an associate of the Zemo Partnership.
Prior to his time at Zemo, Mr Murray worked on transport and environment projects, including as Director of Transport at the Energy Saving Trust.
His work has included leading the Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce from 2019-2023 and he currently heads Zemo’s partnership with the Welsh government to decarbonise commercial vehicles in Wales.
Speaking of taking over the MD position, he says: “I am excited to take on this role at a critical time in the transition to decarbonised transport in the UK.
“We are well on the way to achieving our goals, though there are still challenges ahead both in policy and in delivery … but if we get this right, the opportunities to create benefits for both our economy and our environment are huge.
“I would like to wish Claire well in her endeavour, through which she seeks to tackle similar challenges, but from a different perspective.”
He will officially assume his new role on 31 March.
Ms Haigh, who took up her role in January 2024, says: “I am passionate about tackling climate change and am truly delighted to have been given the opportunity to complete The Tabula Project, which seeks to find new ways to address some of our most intractable problems.
“Transport and the environment will remain a key focus for me and I am heartened that, as I stand down as MD of Zemo, I leave the Partnership in the safe hands of Jonathan Murray, with whom I have worked very closely for many years.”
