White’s St Albans will be the first UK operator to take delivery of the two-axle Irizar i8 integral. It placed an order for one at Coach & Bus UK, held at the NEC Birmingham last week.
Irizar UK has thus far supplied the i8 integral only in three-axle form. The two-axle models for White’s will be a 12.4m, 44-seater and come with a toilet and a servery from AD Coach Systems among much else. It will form part of the operator’s 60th anniversary celebrations in 2020.
Says White’s St Albans Director Greg White: “We believe that the i8 integral is the pinnacle of the coaching industry and we are delighted to be the first operator in the UK to order the two-axle, 12.4m version.
“As with all our vehicles, our focus is on providing the best travel experience for all of our clients. We are happy to have fewer seats and more space for each traveller.”
The coach will be powered by the DAF MX-11 engine rated at 450bhp driving through ZF’s EcoLife automatic gearbox.
