Go South West Managing Director Richard Stevens (pictured, centre) received a special Outstanding Leadership Award at the Devon and Plymouth Chamber Awards on 24 September. It recognises his contributions to local business and organisations, from driving buses when needed to sitting on school boards and local growth boards.
In addition, Go South West – which incorporates Plymouth Citybus and Go Cornwall Bus – was recognised as Digital Business of the Year at the same ceremony thanks to its improvements for customers and staff. Judges praised new apps and websites, along with online forms of communication that enable drivers to access information wherever they are.
Mr Stevens quickly thanked colleagues at the Go-Ahead subsidiary for their support. “I was very humbled and proud to receive a special award for Outstanding Leadership in the Community at the Devon and Plymouth Chamber Awards. I can honestly say that it is a pleasure to work with you all.”
In addition to the two awards, Go South West Head of People and Operations Carolyn Giles (pictured, right) took to the stage in her role as Chair of The Chestnut Appeal, the event’s charity partner, to explain the importance of drawing attention to men’s health.
The Awards were hosted by Chamber CEO Stuart Elford and local TV and radio personality David Fitzgerald.
