IOW Tours Managing Director Geoff Holt (pictured, right) has been appointed to the board of directors of the Coach Tourism Association (CTA).
He is a longstanding CTA member through his responsibilities in leading the Isle of Wight-based coach tour operator, which describes him as “hands on in his management of the company and a firm believer that this focused, personal approach and attention to detail ensures a perfect holiday will be enjoyed by all our customers.”
Mr Holt was formally appointed at the CTA Annual General Meeting in Cardiff on 11 May. He grew up in a family-run hotel on the Isle of Wight and was introduced to hospitality at an early age.
Building his career through hotel operations and sales roles with Forte and Hilton, he returned to the island to focus on sales and coach tourism.
After that, he became the longest-serving Sales Manager at IOW Tours before purchasing the brand in 2021. That also involved acquiring and reviving the KingsHill Dance Holidays identity, which was previously based on Merseyside, retaining some of the team who are taking that business “to new heights,” says CTA.
Speaking about his elevation, Mr Holt comments: “I am honoured to be appointed to the CTA board of directors. As a coach tour operator, we have been proud members of CTA for decades, and being part of the organisation has helped us to strengthen and enhance our product offering for customers.
“Building relationships with fellow operators has also enabled us to share ideas and find solutions to common challenges across the industry. By joining the CTA board, I look forward to sharing our experience for the wider benefit of members while helping to support the future direction and continued success of the coach tourism sector.”
Adds CTA Chair Robert Shaw (pictured, left): “We are very happy to welcome Geoff to the CTA board, and know that he will make a valuable contribution towards the promotion of coach operators and the wider industry.”
