Trentbarton Marketing and Communications Manager Scarlet McCourt has been named Rising Star at the Generation Next Awards 2024, which are held by the East Midlands Chamber.

Ms McCourt was among a dozen winners at the ceremony, which was held at Bustler Market in Derby on 4 July. In her category she saw off nine other finalists to claim the Rising Star award.

Having started her career as an apprentice at Nottinghamshire County Council, Ms McCourt joined Trentbarton six years ago. She was promoted in 2023 to lead the operator’s marketing and communications work and is the youngest team leader within the business.

Speaking about her victory, Ms McCourt says: “It is an absolute honour to be recognised for this award. I love what I do and leading the marketing and communications team is a pleasure. Generation Next does some incredibly important work in highlighting the importance of young professionals, something that I am also extremely passionate about.”

Trentbarton Managing Director Tom Morgan has congratulated Ms McCourt on her victory, noting: “We all want to wish Scarlet huge congratulations for winning the Rising Star award.

“Scarlet is an exceptional team member whose innovative strategies and unwavering dedication have elevated our brands to new heights. She has an unwavering commitment to delivering our customer values consistently and is an integral part of our leadership team. We are incredibly proud of her.”

TV presenter and journalist Kirsty Shelts hosted the ceremony. In their comments, the judges observed that Ms McCourt “showed ambition for how she will embrace the Generation Next Rising Star award to continue excelling in her career, and drive change in her industry and success with her goals.”
