Jon Eardley has been named Managing Director for Aftersales and Telematics by Wrightbus fleet support arm AllServiceOne, and will lead that business.
Mr Eardley joins from Transport UK London Bus, where he was Managing Director. He brings almost 30 years of industry experience to AllServiceOne via a career that began as a mechanical apprentice with the predecessor to First Potteries and has included time with First Bus and Arriva.
AllServiceOne builds on the foundations of Wrightbus by supporting 20,000 vehicles globally, with the supplier noting that it is “a one-stop shop for fleet service and support solutions, extending the existing capabilities of the Wrightbus aftersales business.”
In addition to service and maintenance, AllServiceOne provides OEM parts, crash repair and refurbishment capabilities, and uses telematics to predict faults using artificial intelligence. It also helps operators to transition to battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell-electric buses, with Mr Eardley bringing significant experience of the former from Transport UK London Bus.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Eardley says: “I am delighted to be joining the Wrightbus group at this exciting time as it continues to lead the way in clean technology and transport decarbonisation.
“Over the last 28 years, I have been fortunate enough to work for multiple businesses across a variety of coach and bus operations and know all to well the challenges faced day-to-day in providing high quality services.
“My experiences will allow me to ensure that the needs of our customers remain at the centre of all that Wrightbus does, maintaining trusted and longstanding partnerships with them from the first mile to the last mile. I cannot wait to get started.”
Commenting on the arrival of Mr Eardley, Wrightbus Chief Executive Jean-Marc Gales adds: “We are looking forward to welcoming Jon to the Wrightbus team. His experience and wealth of knowledge speak for themselves.
“Jon has worked for a number of our high-profile customers and, as a result, has a deep understanding of their needs, which he will bring to Wrightbus and AllServiceOne to help further cement our place as the market leader in zero-emission public transport.”
