Already offering many on-vehicle solutions for its customers, including mobile CCTV, next stop announcement, telematics and passenger counting systems, 21st Century has recently demonstrated its ability to deliver a fully-connected vehicle including all of these systems in a fleet-wide ITxPT compliant solution for Omniserv’s Gatwick Airport fleet.
Omniserv Operations Manager, Paul Stephen, says: “CCTV is vitally important to running a smooth operation. The system 21st Century installed was built into a modular system controlling other parts of the bus’s technology. It combined high-definition IP cameras, solid-state recoding with web-based software, allowing us to dial in to any vehicle and live-view any issues.”
Paul was equally pleased with the next stop announcement capability, “It may sound simple, but giving our passengers clear information once they are on the vehicle helps reassure them of their journey. 21st Century delivered three displays per vehicle that work with playlists we can control and uses data from the RTI system trigger next stop announcements.”
