Driveline Emissions Technologies validates Cummins C series retrofit

Driveline Emissions Technologies adds to its range of CVRAS accredited retrofit solutions

Driveline Emissions Technologies claims to have become the first company to successfully validate a retrofit selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for Euro III Cummins C series engined vehicles.

It means vehicles such as the Dennis Trident and Volvo B8 based vehicles can now be accredited to the Euro VI based Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) standard.

The company says it achieved over 99% reduction in NOx emissions over the CVRAS test cycle. By working with OE supply chain partners, it believes it is set to develop solutions to bring most Euro III, IV and V engines to the Euro VI standard.

Says Stewart McLean, Managing Director of Driveline: “Euro III Cummins and Volvo engined vehicles represent a part of the bus market that has been largely ignored.

“Following the acquisition of the Econoxt design and IP, we invested well over £2m in 2019 alone on portable emissions measuring systems and product development, as well as refining validation processes.

“In our strong business relationship with the Energy Saving Trust we now look forward to providing the market with a greater range of accredited coach, bus and specialist vehicle exhaust retrofit applications than currently exist to meet market demand.

“With the impending extension of the London ULEZ, Clean Air Zones and Scottish Low Emission Zone initiatives, we are going to have a busy time over the next five years or so in the UK fleet sector”
