Temsa HD12 with the X Coach Z tyre showed 0.5mm wear after 40,000km

Bibby’s of Ingleton will fit its entire 38-strong fleet with Michelin X Coach Z tyres after the product proved its worth six months into a year-long trial with the operator.

As one of the first in the UK to evaluate the new range, the Yorkshire firm fitted a set of 295/80 R22.5  to a new Temsa HD12 and trialled them against an identical coach with a competitor’s casings.

In nearly 40,000km, the X Coach Z-equipped Temsa showed around 0.5mm of tread wear while delivering excellent grip and handling, says Workshop Manager Stuart Best.

Adds MD Peter Bibby: “I wanted to see for myself the difference between the two fitments after the positive feedback that drivers gave us.

“Instantly, I felt how much smoother the coach ran and how good the road handling was compared to that of the competitor tyres.”

Michelin says that its X Coach Z tyre gives long-lasting performance. It has a regenerating tread pattern comprising a design that changes as it wears, with grooves and water clearing channels that open in the later stages of its life.
