National Express West Midlands (NXWM) has purchased a set of purpose designed Totalkare wash bay vehicle lifts for its West Bromwich depot. The G8AC mobile column lifts mean that the operator no longer needs to use a third party to clean the undersides of vehicles ahead of test, reducing costs and downtime.

Totalkare says that the G8AC is the UK’s only column lift that is specifically designed for outdoor use. It is fully galvanised and it has sealed bearings to give long-term protection from water ingress.

Each column has a safe working load of 7,500kg and it comes with adjustable forks to accommodate various wheel sizes. Sets of four, six or eight columns can be used together. No installation or ground preparation is required, which Totalkare says make the G8AC “a much more flexible and cost-effective alternative to a permanent vehicle wash installation.”

Purchase of the wash bay column lifts represents a continuation of NXWM’s relationship with Totalkare. It has been using the supplier’s mobile column lifts in its workshops for many years and West Bromwich depot Engineering Manager Tim Parker says the aftersales service delivered has been good.

“Once we had identified the requirement for a set of wash bay-suitable mobile column lifts, talking to Totalkare was the logical decision,” he continues.

Adds Totalkare National Account Manager Brian Young: “It’s great to continue our relationship with NXWM through the provision of this set of wash bay column lifts. Unlike other products on the market that may be supplied with covers, the G8AC is the only genuinely fit-for-purpose solution in the UK for companies seeking a flexible vehicle lifting solution for chassis washing.”
