Replacement wiper blades: Check yours out

Wiper blade specialist Trico is advising operators to check theirs, and has issued some advice that may help them to decide when they require replacement.

Streaking is caused by dry rubber that has hardened or cracked, and foreign substances can also cause streaking.

A ‘chattering’ sound, meanwhile, is caused by a permanent curve in the blade following lack of use.

Worn and split rubber is caused by age, while a bent wiper frame can be caused by automatic washers or ice scraping. Both can impact effectiveness.
