Total talks about its automated stock tracker

Total Lubricants is keen to talk to visitors to the CV Show about its automated stock management system (ASMS).

It works by fitting a permanent measuring device in a customer’s lubricant storage tank. The ASMS automatically monitors the level via a GPRS communication system and alerts Total when it is low.

This reduces the risk of stock-outs and unplanned downtime. Remote monitoring also cuts administration costs and errors associated with the manual stock check and re-order process, and the risk of tank over-fills.
