Castle Minibus launches app for school TMs and drivers

Castle Minibus has launched School Transport Record and Inspection Dashboard with App (STRIDA).

It is is a free tool for school minibus drivers to record daily vehicle checks on their phones and also a dashboard for transport administrators to receive, record and manage those reports.

STRIDA provides a 12-point minibus checklist for drivers to utilise daily and a 40-point list for school Transport Managers (TMs). Castle recommends the latter is actioned weekly. All those checklists are managed via the dashboard.

Demonstration videos are offered and photos with comments can be uploaded. TMs can visit Castle Minibus’s website to register a free account for their establishment. Drivers are then invited via the dashboard to register and download the app.

Says Castle Minibus MD Chris Maynard: “This is our second free app for school TMs. We realised that they needed an effective way of managing driver checks, and that teachers needed an easy-to-use minibus checklist that covers pre-journey essentials only.

“This app will allow drivers to complete and submit their checks, and TMs to complete a more thorough 40-point list. STRIDA will enable schools to improve their minibus safety systems and prove that checks are being completed and that any issues are identified quickly.”

STRIDA was initially launched in January to 20 volunteer schools that had used the previous School Transport Manager app. It is now open to all establishments.
