Neoplan Tourliners will be available with rear-view cameras from 2019

MAN Bus and Coach has announced that the Neoplan Tourliner range will be available with rear-view cameras in lieu of mirrors from Q2 2019.

While the cameras, which feed to internal displays mounted on each A-pillar, will be available on new coaches, the dealership will also offer a retrofit option for existing Tourliners, says General Manager Wayne Ulph.

“Mirrors on coaches are vulnerable and they are costly to replace,” adds Mr Ulph. “Tests have shown that use of cameras instead can give a fuel consumption reduction of up to 3% because of reduced drag.”

One of MAN’s demonstrators will have the cameras fitted and any retrofit work would be carried out at is Trafford Park workshops.

Twin mirror arms will still be provided, and stored in the luggage bay in case a camera or display is damaged.
