Profit of ownership is VDL’s priority for buyers of its Futura 2 coaches

Coach manufacturer VDL’s priority remains buyers’ profitable operation of its Futura 2 range, says Business Manager Coach Peter Gerdingh.

Futura 2 production has moved to the new DAF/ZF driveline, and Mr Gerdingh expects the EcoLife gearbox to remain the most popular among UK buyers.

“Fuel consumption is a priority for VDL. We have seen recently in an independent test that the Futura 2 excels in that department.

“Additionally, reducing the operator’s costs is important, as we demonstrate with our 12.9 and 13.5m coaches. They allow a high seating capacity of up to 61 while keeping the benefits of running on two axles.”

Further improvements to the range are planned for 2019, he adds.
