Caledonian Leisure recently declared an annual turnover of over £40m for 2022, the company’s first full year of trading. Its continued growth trajectory indicates a promising performance for the current year.

The company, which was relaunched by its former management team in 2020, operates the Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands. Since its re-emergence in June 2021, it has seen a rapid growth, amassing 600,000 customer bookings and expanding its workforce to 90 employees.

Reflecting on this progress, Managing Director Graham Rogers expresses his delight at the “fantastic growth of the business over the last two years”. He further pledges to continue building on these results, citing the development of the company’s programmes, channels, and partnerships as key focus areas.

Despite an economic climate pressuring household budgets, Mr Rogers underscores the commitment to delivering value and superior service to the company’s expanding customer base.

“Our customer-first approach underpins everything we do and this is reflected in the positive reviews we have received,” he affirmed.

Backing what is believed to be the UK’s largest programme of coach-based short breaks and holidays, Caledonian Leisure has opened five regional Travel Centres in Glasgow, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Hull and Wakefield, and anticipates extending its network in the coming months.

Significant investment has been made in technology, recruitment and further expansion of its fleet of environmentally friendly coaches, affectionately called the ‘Pride of Lions’.

The UKBreakaways brand, a specialist in hotel breaks, has also witnessed substantial growth of its programme of entertainment experiences.

Emphasising the critical role of the Travel Trade in its success, Commercial Director Martin Lock thanks the network of agents who have “helped us deliver our award-winning service and experience to customers”. Noting the surge in 2024 bookings by over 30% from the previous year, Mr Lock credits this to the company’s multi-channel campaigns and the utilisation of advanced customer data analytics software.

The company’s Finance Director David McDonald also expresses delight at the business’ “robust progress”. He says that the company’s model of profitable growth has ensured continued investments without compromising on client’s financial security. He also mentioned that joining the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (ABTOT) will provide additional financial bonding security to customers.
