INIT to deliver fare collection to US operator

San Diego’s MTS will use INIT fare collection and back-office systems

INIT will provide more than 100 cash and 70 cashless ticket vending machines to San Diego’s MTS to allow purchase of tickets and fare media.

It will also deliver around 900 validators to accept smartcards and open payments such as bank cards and mobile wallets.

The core intelligence to the system will be INIT’s back-office processing and revenue management system, Mobilevario.

It uses an open architecture design to integrate with various third-party vendors, which will give the ability for a region-wide, interoperable fare structure.
