Cardiff-based coach and bus operator Adventure Travel is targeting a driver-recruitment campaign towards staff at high street firm Wilko, which went into administration today.
With more than 12,000 jobs with the retailer at risk, the operator is putting out a call to help ease the driver shortage issue.
Adam Keen, Managing Director at Adventure Travel, which has a fleet of 165 vehicles, says: “It’s a real shame to see the collapse of such a large retailer in Wales, especially with so many jobs now at risk.
“With some branches already confirmed to be closing, including Merthyr Tydfil and Llanelli, and mounting job uncertainty, we’re inviting Wilko staff to talk to us about our vacancies.
“We welcome a diverse range of personnel from all career backgrounds, including factory workers and those in retail. No experience is necessary and we provide a dedicated training school offering free, unlimited in-house training, to ensure anyone and everyone can find a role with us which they can thrive in.
“We would encourage anyone who is concerned about job security, or who is inclined for a career change, to get in touch as we have vacancies ready and waiting to be filled.”
Adventure Travel has openings primarily for PCV drivers and is offering a joining bonus of £1250 for new employees, as well as trainee positions.
