DVSA will allow approved trainers to deliver Driver CPC courses via digital platforms until 12 June.
The mandatory seven hours’ training may still be split into two 3.5-hour sessions over consecutive days if desired. All the usual conditions of the course must be met. Any online forum used should be suitable for “remote auditing” and appropriate records must be kept.
Those delivering remote training must consider several matters, including how they conduct robust ID checks and how to maintain driver engagement. Providers wishing to use the remote model should email DCPC_CC@dvsa.gov.uk and provide a summary of their proposals.
DVSA will issue separate advice to holders of Driver Qualification Cards that are due to expire before 12 June and who cannot access periodic training. Arrangements will be kept under review, it adds.
