The first examples of an order for 12 Wrightbus StreetVibes have entered service on Guernsey with HCT Group subsidiary CT Plus Guernsey.
As part of a phased replacement programme for 41 ageing Dennis Dart buses on the island, the new vehicles will carry 31 seated passengers and 12 standees.
The deal is worth £1.62m and the buses – which are Euro 6 models – have USB charging points and audio/visual next-stop announcements.
Says Mark Dorey, Vice-President of the Committee for the Environment and Infrastructure: “The new buses will provide much-improved customer comfort, passenger information and vehicle emissions.
“Selecting the StreetVibe has ensured that the island benefits from the latest technological developments in the bus industry and the narrowest bus in its class. The order is a result of the collaboration and understanding between Wrightbus, staff at Traffic and Highway Service and bus operator HCT Group/CT Plus Guernsey.”
All of the buses will be in service by the end of June. They are 9.04m long and 2.28m wide.
