Edinburgh-based operator Timberbush Tours will invest £1.1m in its fleet for 2020 after placing orders for five new coaches, all of which are from the MAN stable.

Each will be built to the operator’s specification and delivered early next year. The order is composed of two 53-seat Neoplan Tourliner P21s, supplied by MAN Truck and Bus. Additionally, a trio of TGLs with MOBIpeople Midi Explorer bodywork will be delivered. They will carry 32 passengers and be supplied by BASE Coach Sales.

The Tourliners are the first Euro 6d models for a UK customer. They have been built to order at the Ankara plant.

Timberbush Tours replaces vehicles before they reach three years old. That is a key part of its commitment to strong environmental credentials, says CEO Steve Spalding. The operator is accredited with the Green Business Tourism Scheme Gold Award and it holds an EcoStars five-star rating.

Adds Mr Spalding: “It is vital that we continually invest to ensure that we own the most modern, fuel efficient fleet available. It is important for the environment, but also in terms of customer safety and comfort.”

The new coaches will be used to carry holidaymakers and day trippers across the Scottish Highlands, to the North of England from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, and for private tours and corporate hires.

Timberbush invested £2m in 16 new vehicles earlier this year. Nine new coaches joined its fleet in 2018.
