‘Transport for London – get London moving’

Hammersmith Bridge remains closed, leaving hundreds of schoolchildren struggling to get to school.

Despite this, Transport for London (TfL) has recently rejected the establishment of a point to point coach service to get kids across the Thames on the grounds that coaches do not provide the same protections as TfL buses.

We have been working with schools, drivers and operators across the country to implement sanitisation, distancing and other safety measures to prove that there are safe alternatives.

One of our partner schools was directly impacted by the bridge closure and we quickly put in place extra coach shuttle services using new pick up points, plus contact tracing technology. This has improved the situation greatly.

Everything is in place right now to resolve this issue, and Kura and others have proven dedicated student transport to be safe. TfL should restart talks and get London moving.
