Fleet transport insurance broker McCarron Coates has once again been recognised in the Insurance Times Awards, claiming two silver accolades at the ceremony held on 4 December in London.
That recognition came in the Commercial Lines Broker and Broker of the Year categories, with McCarron Coates competing against larger and more general commercial insurance brokers there. This year’s achievement follows multiple previous years where the Leeds-based business has come away from the Insurance Times Awards with trophies.
Receipt of the two silver awards recognises the work done by McCarron Coates to furnish its clients with the best risk management solutions and layers of protection, the supplier says.
That includes the RTC Crisis Line service. It allows drivers to quickly access in-person legal representation from transport lawyers if they are involved in a police-investigated incident, which the broker says “can be the difference between a loss of licence or a prison sentence and a much less severe punishment if mitigating circumstances can be presented.”
Also recognised by the two awards was the broker’s work to find new and innovative ways to communicate risks to clients. In mid-2024 it created a bespoke board game, Road Hierarchy, to help them understand the tangible legal threats to licences and liberty that they can face on the road.
Speaking about the recognition, Director Ian McCarron (pictured, left) says: “We are delighted to win these two Insurance Times awards and gain recognition for our insurance work within the fleet transport sector.
“It demonstrates that there is a real role for innovative risk management approaches and for a broker that is willing to get under the skin of a client’s business to drive risk management improvements from a position of knowledge and strength.
“The whole team will be buoyed up by these two wins as we head into 2025. All will be determined to help more fleet transport operators to up their risk management game.”
